Honda has unveiled the new fifth-generation Honda CR-V, America’s best-selling SUV over the last two decades. The redesigned and reengineered CR-V will go on sale this winter and features bold new styling, a premium interior, and the model’s first-ever turbocharged engine. According to Honda, American car buyers have purchased nearly four million CR-Vs since its launch in the states in 1997. Since then, the CR-V has built a reputation with awards including:
The CR-V’s design has a much more aggressive attitude. The crisp and sharp front-end design is mixed with stylized headlights and muscular fenders for a more masculine looking SUV. According to Autoblog, the new body and chassis design provides more agile and confident handling, greater refinement, additional ground clearance and superior overall versatility.
The 2017 CR-V in EX and higher trims will feature CR-V’s first ever turbocharged engine along with a more powerful and fuel-efficient 1.5-liter DOHC, direct-injected and turbocharged 4-cylinder enginerated at 190 horsepower, delivering incredibly refined and responsive performance.. Combined with the CR-V’s more aerodynamic body, the new turbocharged engine aims to claim the highest EPA fuel economy ratings in the compact SUV class. CR-V LX trims will be powered by a 2.4-liter DOHC, direct-injected i-VTECÔ engine, and both will be mated to a smooth shifting and sporty continuously variable transmission.
This new generation raises the bar for interior refinement and premium features. The cabin continues to offer top-in-class interior space and the best rear seat legroom in its class. Some of the new comfort and convenience features available on this model include remote engine start, dual-zone climate controls, heated side mirrors, an Electric Parking Brake (EPB), rear USB charging ports, front passenger seat with 4-way power adjustment and driver’s seat with 8-way power adjustment and 4-way power lumbar support and heated front and rear outboard seats.

Honda is celebrating Second Annual National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Dayearly with an incredible announcement. The 2017 Honda Fuel Cell Clarity will be released this winter. National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day on October 8 was initially created to help raise awareness of a clean energy technology that is currently available in today’s world. The date of the 8th is significant as 10/08 is the atomic weight of hydrogen (1.008).
Honda believes that hydrogen can play a critical role in addressing global climate change and accelerating progress towards a more sustainable, ultra low-carbon mobility future. The new 5-passenger, hydrogen-powered Clarity Fuel Cell sedan is expected to have the ability to traverse over 300 miles per fueling with a refueling time of approximately three to five minutes. Honda believes that the zero-emission Clarity will meet customer needs for performance, safety and advanced telematics all while addressing society’s environmental and energy concerns. The fuel cell stack within the car is said to be 33 percent more compact than previous models with a 60 percent increase in power compared to the Honda FCX Clarity. The compact fuel cell and integrated powertrain now fits entirely under the hood allowing for more spacious seating.
The new model will feature a low and wide aerodynamic body with clean lines while the interior showcases a refined experience using rich materials and intuitive controls. Like many new model Honda’s, customers will be able to enjoy additional features including the Honda Sensing™ suite of safety and driver assistive technologies, Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™. The Clarity Fuel Cell will be available in Crystal Black Pearl, White Orchid Pearl and signature Bordeaux Red Metallic exterior paint schemes. Over the past month, Frank Ancona Honda has been collecting new, unwrapped toys as an official sponsor for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. With the help of the Kansas City community, we were able to collect 225 toys that will be distributed as gifts to children in need this holiday season.
This was our first year sponsoring the program and we can’t wait to see what the next couple of years will bring.
Dave Heitman, the general sales manager at Frank Ancona Honda, said, “We were excited to participate in the Toys for Tots program for the first time this year, and couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. The Kansas City community donated tons of toys that will go to less fortunate children in the area this holiday season. We always try to give back to the community in any way we can and this program provides us with the opportunity to help children in need every winter from now on.”
Frank Ancona Honda is committed to philanthropic charities that support kids and families. It has donated and helped fundraise for charities like City Union Mission, the Ronald McDonald House, Catholic Charities, the Phoenix Family, KidsTLC and more.

Winter in Kansas City can be pretty unpredictable, but one thing is for sure, it gets cold. Did you know that cold weather is accountable for over 63 percent of weather-related deaths in the United States? According to a report by the National Center for Health Statistics, cold winter weather kills more than twice as many Americans as the unbearable summer heat.
No one deserves to freeze out in the cold this winter because they don’t have the proper winter coat to help keep them warm, especially children. According to kidshealth.org, children are at a greater risk for frostnip and frostbite than adults. The best way to prevent this is to make sure they are dressed warmly and don’t spend too much time in cold weather.
Winter coats can be expensive, often causing children to have to face the winter months without proper warmth. Here at Frank Ancona Honda, we always try to give back to the community, which is why we are happy to announce that we are a drop-off location for new or gently used winter coats to help local children in need this winter.
Want to help? Drop off new or gently used winter coats to help children in need to our store located at 1000 North Rogers Road in Olathe, Kan. The cut-off date for this year’s drive is December 4, 2015, but we will continue accepting donations throughout 2016 to prepare for next winter. After the cut-off we will take all the donated coats to a local dry cleaner to be professionally cleaned before being distributed to local charities and kids across the Kansas City Metro.
Winter weather will be here before we know it, so please bring your new coat donations to our store today to help local children stay warm this winter.
