The generosity of Honda was recently displayed toward victims of Hurricane Sandy, who are still rebuilding following the horrific tragedy that swept through their homes. The motor company donated $50,000 in an effort to aid the children affected in a return to a sense of normalcy.
Honda, a 17-year sponsor of the Little League®, stepped in to help restore baseball and softball fields and facilities which allowed the children a temporary escape of the harsh realities that ravaged their lives in 2012. The contributions allowed the sites to be repaired in time for the league’s 32-team opening day on April 20.
According to the LittleLeague.org, Honda hosted fundraising activities such as, “Sing Badly for a Good Cause: Car-e-oke” in which parents were encouraged to belt out their worst rendition of “Take me out to the Ball Game” inside an Odyssey minivan. Honda donated up to $50 for each parent who participated.
