Honda is gearing up for a big showcase at the 2016 SEMA show with a custom Honda Ridgeline. The SEMA show is one of the top automotive trade shows in the world and takes place annually in Las Vegas, Nevada. At this show, different auto manufacturers will showcase educational seminars, product demonstrations and much more. The trade show is said to draw the industry’s brightest minds and hottest products, as over 60,000 people attended last year’s show.
The decision to showcase a custom Ridgeline at this year’s event was an easy choice, especially with all of the positive feedback the truck has been receiving since its launch a few months ago. Right out of the gate, Car and Driver fell in love with the spacious and comfortable interior, claiming it “embarrasses the competition.” Most recently, the pickup truck was recognized for its superior safety. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, or IIHS, recently shared a video, discussing tests performed on a series of trucks where the Ridgeline stood out. Overall, the IIHS has provided superior safety ratings for the truck that are well within Honda’s standards of excellence.
Unlike typical trucks, this vehicle is a great everyday mode of transportation that can provide consumers with a multitude of features that are not offered among competing brands, such as Ford and Chevrolet. These features include an in-bed storage compartment with a drain and dual-action tailgate that opens vertically and horizontally to allow for easy loading and finally weatherproof speakers in the bed making this vehicle ideal for tailgating.

It’s been nearly 50 years since the first Honda N600, nicknamed the Serial One and sporting a modest 0.6-liter two-cylinder engine, made its way across the ocean to the United States.
As the first Honda automobile imported for sale in the North America, the N600 helped launch a major market shift that saw small Japanese cars successfully challenge the hegemony of gas guzzlers from the ‘Big Three’ American manufacturers.
Today, the effort to restore that very first N600 is nearly finished. The restoration process, documented in a 12-part video series entitled, ‘Serial One,’ has taken well over a year to complete. After collecting dust in a junk pile for nearly 50 years, it’s safe to say this hidden gem has seen better days.
According to an interview with Tim Mings, the owner of the Serial One, the serial number one vehicle was acquired through a stroke of good luck. Tim Mings originally bought the car along with another older model without realizing that the Serial One was now in his possession. It was not until he began restoring the car that he realized he’d inadvertently purchased the historic vehicle. Honda is currently supporting Mings’ ongoing project to properly restore the Serial One, the Honda N600, to pristine condition.
Frank Ancona Honda President Michael Ancona shares Mings’ vision on preserving the history of Honda, saying:
“We love the history of the cars which is why we have an extensive collection of Historic Honda projects. We enjoy reminiscing on our history as we look forward to the future with new vehicles.”
In the years since the Serial One’s arrival on American shores, Honda has established itself as an international brand that will stand the test of time. To that point, Frank Ancona Honda is lucky enough to own an extensive showroom of classic Honda products like their 1971 Honda Z600 Coupe.

Honda is celebrating Second Annual National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Dayearly with an incredible announcement. The 2017 Honda Fuel Cell Clarity will be released this winter. National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day on October 8 was initially created to help raise awareness of a clean energy technology that is currently available in today’s world. The date of the 8th is significant as 10/08 is the atomic weight of hydrogen (1.008).
Honda believes that hydrogen can play a critical role in addressing global climate change and accelerating progress towards a more sustainable, ultra low-carbon mobility future. The new 5-passenger, hydrogen-powered Clarity Fuel Cell sedan is expected to have the ability to traverse over 300 miles per fueling with a refueling time of approximately three to five minutes. Honda believes that the zero-emission Clarity will meet customer needs for performance, safety and advanced telematics all while addressing society’s environmental and energy concerns. The fuel cell stack within the car is said to be 33 percent more compact than previous models with a 60 percent increase in power compared to the Honda FCX Clarity. The compact fuel cell and integrated powertrain now fits entirely under the hood allowing for more spacious seating.
The new model will feature a low and wide aerodynamic body with clean lines while the interior showcases a refined experience using rich materials and intuitive controls. Like many new model Honda’s, customers will be able to enjoy additional features including the Honda Sensing™ suite of safety and driver assistive technologies, Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™. The Clarity Fuel Cell will be available in Crystal Black Pearl, White Orchid Pearl and signature Bordeaux Red Metallic exterior paint schemes. A lot can happen in 10 years; life can change and so can cars. This year Honda released the 2017 Honda Fit which puts the versatile, fun and affordable Fit line into its tenth year on the market of the United States. The 2017 Fit remains one of the most fuel efficient cars on the road today and continues to be built on its phenomenal award winning platform which earned it recognition for Best Hatchback for the Money by U.S. News & World Report,One of America’s 10 Best Back-to-School Cars by KBB.com and a Five Star Rating from NHTSA in 2016.
Boasting an amazing 36/29 Hwy/City MPG rating, the traditional, five-door hatchback is available in three different trim levels: LX, EX and the EX-L. The Fit comes standard with automatic headlights, Bluetooth and a center console with storage. Different trims levels will offer features such as a power moonroof, a 7.0-inch touchscreen display audio system and heated leather seats. Also new for 2017 is the addition of Alabaster Silver Metallic to the exterior color options.
What really sets the Fit apart from other compact hatchbacks is the amount of interior space it boasts. According to Honda, the vehicle offers class-leading passenger space and versatility courtesy of its center-mounted fuel tank and their “Magic Seat.” In fact, Honda states that the Fit offers nearly four more inches of legroom to passengers in the rear of the car. Instead of being limited in storage space, the Fit has the storage capacity of a larger SUV due to the folding ability of the seats. Car and Driver even called the original model a “diminutive road warrior with Great-Pumpkin interior volume.” How often can that be said about a compact hatchback? Not very often and the Fit owns that extra space!
