UPDATE: The S-2000 Convertible sold in just five days after arriving on the showroom floor!
Everyone at Frank Ancona Honda is very excited to welcome the rare 2005 Honda S-2000 at the dealership! The convertible is on display on the showroom floor, making our dealership look even better than before. This rare vehicle is currently for sale at $18,995 with only 45,146 miles on it.
In particular, the 2005 Honda S-2000 has extremely high customer and critic reviews. Many recall the 2005 S-2000 as being the best car they have ever owned, according to reviews on Kelley Blue Book. The entry-level convertible has a manual six-speed transmission and a four-cylinder VTEC 2.2 liter 237 horsepower engine. On average the S-2000 sees 19 MPG (17 city and 23 highway).
NADA reports the 2005 Honda S-2000 “handles like its on rails and makes the most of its high-revving 2.2L four-cylinder engine for a fun ride.” The S-2000 goes from 0 to 60 in 5.8 seconds, reaching 9,000 RPMs at a 2,750 pound curb weight at the end of the day.
Named for the 2 liter engine and modeled after the S-series roadsters of the 1960s, the Honda S-2000 was released in 1999 to celebrate Honda’s 50th anniversary. The first run was known as the AP1, but in 2004 the S-2000 got a facelift known as the AP2. The suspension was retuned for better stability in corners, the drivetrain was improved, cosmetics were changed to modernize the vehicle and the subframe was altered to improve rigidity. The engine remained the same as the AP1.
The saddest part of the S-2000’s story is it stopped being produced in 2009. Even when it was produced, only 7,000 were made each year making every model a rarity today. Throughout its lifetime, the S-2000 won many awards and accolades from performance to safety to affordability.
