Frank Ancona Honda Partners with Ronald McDonald House of Kansas City To Furnish 3rd Home for Hope Grows Here

Frank Ancona Honda is excited to announce a partnership with the Ronald McDonald House Charity of Kansas City. The Olathe dealership made a $2500 donation earlier this month, launched a mobile giving campaign on RAZ Mobile for customers to donate and is promoting the Hope Grows Here campaign to furnish a third home in the city. The new house is scheduled to open January 2015. Donate now and help furnish the home for families.

The Ronald McDonald Houses are a “Home Away From Home” for thousands of families every year who must travel to the Kansas City area to receive medical treatment for a sick or injured child. There are two Ronald McDonald Houses that currently provide temporary lodging to as many as 60 families each night while their children undergo vital medical care.

Jason Heard, general manager of Frank Ancona Honda, said, “Helping the Ronald McDonald House raise money for a third house in Kansas City is extremely rewarding for our employees and the dealership. Giving back to a charity that provides a home away from home is the least we can do.”

Their donation will help to purchase the items needed to furnish the house. This week they hope to raise money for bedroom items.

Bedspreads: $50
Lamps: $15
Towels: $10/towel
Dressers: $150

Frank Ancona Honda is proud to announce that it will be a sponsor this year at the Great “Inside” Out Race on November 6, put on by the Johnson County Interfaith Hospitality Network, Inc. The race will benefit Johnson County’s homeless children and their families.

According to Johnson County Interfaith Hospitality Network’s website, Johnson County’s poverty level has risen significantly since 2000:

    • •More than 23,000 Johnson County residents were living at or below the federal poverty line in 2003, which is a 50% increase over the number living in poverty in 2000

      •Nearly 8,000 of these residents living in poverty were children, which is double the number of children living in poverty in 2000

      •Use of Food Stamps by Johnson County residents increased 18% from 2003 to 2004

      •The number of children who qualify for free or reduced cost school lunches has grown by double digits in each of Johnson County’s six school districts in recent years, with an 84% increase in Blue Valley and an 86% increase in Olathe
