Honda Accord Comes Out on Top in Side-by-Side Comparison with Toyota Camry

image00

The Honda Accord and Toyota Camry have long-been two of the most beloved mid-sized cars on the road. But did you know the Honda Accord blows the Toyota Camry out of the water in multiple areas? Whether you’re comparing fuel efficiency, safety, comfort or even residual value, the 2016 Honda Accord vastly outperforms the 2016 Toyota Camry.

In terms of fuel economy, in optimal conditions the Camry will see a combined fuel economy of 28 mpg while the Honda Accord achieves up to a combined 31 mpg. It may not seem like much of a difference at first, but your wallet will feel the difference at the pump.

Additionally, the newest model year Honda Accord proudly boasts a 41 percent residual value, according to ALG, while the Camry residual value is only rated at 33 percent. Once those 60 months pass, there is a clear residual value winner.

And did we mention that the NHTSA gave the Honda Accord a higher safety rating than the Toyota Camry? Or that the Accord has more cargo space than the Camry?

When it comes to the Honda Accord vs. Toyota Camry debate, the winner is clear. To learn more about the 2016 Honda Accord, visit us anytime at Frank Ancona Honda.

Frank Ancona Honda Reflects Upon History with Z600 While Driving Toward the Future

This year marks an exciting point in Honda’s history, as the first Z600 is being professionally restored by Tim Mings and backed by Honda. This exciting project got us at Frank Ancona Honda thinking about our own historic vehicles.

According to an interview with Mings by Hemmings Daily, the serial number one vehicle was acquired through a stroke of good luck. It wasn’t until Mings began restoring one of the two models he acquired in a single deal that he realized what he had. Honda is supporting an ongoing project to properly restore the Honda N600 to pristine condition. Every week, Honda is posting updates on the project and sharing a piece of its history through social media channels.

Honda has established itself as a brand that will last. On Kelley Blue Books list of the 10 top-purchased cars of 2015, the Honda Civic came in at number eight, the CR-V at number seven, and the Accord at number six. With such impressive results, it is important to look back at the roots of the company to understand the desire to engineer a solid vehicle.

Frank Ancona Honda is lucky enough to own an extensive showroom that showcases the rich history of Honda. Many different historical vehicles are on display to welcome guests who come into our dealership. Included in the collection are a few motorcycles, scooters and our very own 1971 Honda 600 Coupe.

image01

We also are excited to showcase several other vintage creations from Honda, such as the 1975 Honda MR50 Elsinore, a special edition mini dirt bike only made in 1974 and 1975.

image02

Additional vintage items in our showroom include the Honda Kick-N-Go 2, a 1983 Honda Express bike, a 1986 Honda Spree scooter and some portable generators created by Honda in the ’60s.

To see these vintage items, come in to our dealership, and maybe take some time to test drive a new 2016 Honda Civic. Our featured special lease for the 2016 Civic Sedan CVT LX requires $2,320 total due at signing and only $169.50 per month for 36 months/36,000 miles. See dealership for additional details and information.

Honda Wins ALG’s 2013 Residual Value Award for Best Mainstream Brand Topping all Other Competitors in Long Term Value

Posted by: Jason Heard, Sales Manager at Frank Ancona Honda

The team at Frank Ancona Honda is pleased to tell its Kansas City customers about the prominent awards American Honda Motor Co., Inc. recently received and to carry on the tradition of excellence!

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. received multiple 2013 Residual Value Awards from ALG, including the top honor of Best Mainstream Brand. Additionally, the 2013 Honda Accord, Honda Odyssey and Honda Fit each received individual Residual Value Awards as the highest ranked vehicles in their respective segments. As the leading provider of residual value information to the automotive industry, ALG’s annual Residual Value Awards honor the vehicles in each industry segment that ALG predicts will retain the highest percentage of their original price after a three-year period.

“Long-term value and reliability are both hallmarks of the Honda brand and we are honored to be recognized by ALG as the industry leader in these key qualities,” said Michael Accavitti, vice president of national marketing operations at American Honda. “The Honda engineering philosophy not only delivers immediate value to our customers but will pay off in the long run as well.”

The Honda brand was named the Best Mainstream Brand for 2013, which recognizes the entire Honda lineup for exceptional vehicle quality, strong brand desirability, and long-term reliability. The all-new 2013 Accord ranked the highest in the ultra competitive Midsize Car category. The Honda Odyssey prevailed in the Best Minivan (MPV) category, retaining the top spot for the second consecutive year. The Honda Fit received a Residual Value Award for the fifth consecutive year in the Sub-Compact Car category. Since 2000, the Honda brand has earned 28 model awards and seven overall brand awards from ALG.

“The Honda brand is a constant in ALG’s Residual Value Award history,” said Larry Dominique, President of ALG. “With its smart, value-focused financial strategy, excellent perceived quality, and the all-new Accord, Honda has proven that it provides a compelling, high residual value package for consumers.”

ALG determines the award winners through careful study of the competition in each segment, historical vehicle performance and industry trends. Vehicle quality, production levels relative to demand, as well as pricing strategies are among the key factors that affect ALG’s residual value forecasts.
