Frank Ancona Honda Hosted the Largest Honda Owners Workshop Event

Frank Ancona Honda recently hosted the largest Honda Owners Workshop event in the history of the dealership. This event helps out customers with any questions they have on a variety of Honda subjects and lets them see all the dealership has to offer.

Here is how a Honda Owners Workshop event works. The team at Frank Ancona Honda welcomes new Honda owners to service department. They showcase the waiting area and all the amenities of the lounge while their car is being serviced. The service waiting area includes a coffee bar, soda, juice and water along with doughnuts, bananas, apples and made fresh Otis Spunkmeyer cookies, which are all complimentary.

The waiting area also has free WiFi for their use, public computers at their disposal and a large television. Customers can also see their car being serviced through the full glass windows the view the service bay.

After touring the service area, the team answers any questions the new Honda owners have in regards to their vehicles they just purchased. Often these questions are thought of after they have driven their vehicle out of the dealership and have spent some time with it. Some common questions that are answered include:

  • How do I sync my phone?
  • How do I change a flat tire?
  • How does X feature work in my new car?

The team at Frank Ancona Honda demonstrates the answers to these questions in the service drive. There are multiple vehicles set up in the area so customers can go to the vehicle they own for demonstrations on how to perform certain functions.

Frank Ancona Honda treats the new Honda owners to a dinner. For extra fun, customers at the workshop can submit their names to a raffle for prizes. The next Honda Owners Workshop event will be held on September 16th.

The Future of the Honda CR-Z

The hybrid Honda CR-Z was Honda’s answer to enter the hybrid market in 2010. Yet many have complained about the performance compared to other Honda vehicles and the small fuel economy despite its hybrid status. Now Honda has a gameplan to re-introduce the Honda CR-Z to the market in by 2018 as a sportier model.

The 2017 model will feature an engine that was first debuted in the drool-worthy 2015 Civic Type-R – a turbocharged 2.0 liter four-cylinder featuring the signature VTEC variable valve timing technology, according to MotorAuthority. With the popularity of the Civic Type-R, Honda is installing this favorable engine in the CR-Z to answer complaints about the lack of power in the hybrid vehicle. Honda is also rebranding the CR-Z in 2017 with a new name, titled the Civic Coupe CR-Z.

The new CR-Z version will be unrecognizable with an upgraded body styling. Honda is positioning the CR-Z to be the next generation of the Civic sedan, but a sportier coupe version. While the current CR-Z was built on the Honda Fit chassis, the new CR-Z will be built on a shortened Civic chassis, according to Gas 2.

Honda will be focusing on other efficient vehicle models, such as the FCX Clarity and other FCV concepts, and turning the CR-Z hybrid into a gas machine once more. Since the CR-Z did not have the fuel efficiency that was expected for a hybrid, Honda is reverting the model.

Frank Ancona Honda’s Vintage Collection Featured on Edmunds.com

Back in January, Frank Ancona Honda featured its vintage collection of cars, bikes, scooters and generators that go way back in the Ancona family history. The piece fascinated Honda aficionados and this month the collection was featured on Edmunds.com. A big thank you to Edmunds for writing about us!

Rene Wisely, the correspondent from Edmunds who wrote about the collection at Frank Ancona Honda, was impressed with the dealership’s interest in the depth of Honda production history. In the article, Wisely commented, “A dealership that knows how to mine its rich history strikes an appreciative chord with consumers.”

The Edmunds feature goes more in-depth about what spurred this spark about the Honda collection. When Michael Ancona, the second generation owner of the dealership, traveled to Japan with many other second and third generation owners, he learned a great deal about the history and unique Honda culture.

The trip reminded Ancona of the family treasures in storage and wanted to bring them out for everyone to admire. He is continuing to look for more vintage Honda pieces to put on display at the dealership.

The pieces of the collection include a 1971 Honda 600 Coupe, 1975 Honda MR50 Elsinore, 1986 Honda Spree, 1983 Honda Express, Honda Kick-N-Go 2 and 1963 Honda Generators. These were either collected over the years by members of the Ancona family or won by Frank Ancona for excellent sales and customer service after opening the dealership.
