Frank Ancona Honda recently welcomed a wide assortment of ghouls and goblins (and a beautiful butterfly for good measure) to our location in Olathe for our #Hondaween Trunk-Or-Treat event.
Parents and kids alike spooked us with their creepy (and cute) costumes and were treated to lots of candy from the backs of our decked out trunks. From Monsters, Inc. themes to trunks supporting the Chiefs and Royals, we ran the spectrum of creativity to make our Hondas a bit more haunted than usual.
Make sure to check out our awesome trunk displays.
Those dressed up in costumes were able to enter our #FAHondaween contest. Even if you weren’t there, we have a treat for you – there’s still time to enter. Upload a picture of your family or your kids in their best costumes to our Twitter, Instagram and Facebook pages. Make sure to use the tag #FAHondaween. But be quick. You only have until midnight on Halloween, October 31st, to enter before the contest ends.
We’ll announce the winners of our awesome prizes, Toys R Us gift cards, on November 3rd. First place will take home a $125 gift card, second place gets $75 and third place gets $50!
If you need inspiration for your costumes, here’s another slideshow filled with ideas!
Thank you to everyone who came out to our Trunk-Or-Treat celebration, and if you’re headed out to trick-or-treat, make sure to stay safe and have a Happy Halloween!

City Union Mission is currently in the middle of the largest food drive in Kansas City, FeedKCNow. The drive helps provide food for many of the homeless families and individuals in the metro area. The mission also helps provide support groups and programs for the homeless and people who need help getting back on the right track. If you’re not familiar with City Union Mission, they shared one of their heartwarming stories with Frank Ancona Honda to pass along.
When James was growing up, he was active in his church and an avid violin player. He had a zeal for life. But then his mother said something happened to James and he started down a different path. He started doing things out of the ordinary and turned to meth. His family didn’t know what to do and was at a loss, so they started praying and left James’ addiction with God. That’s when James found City Union Mission and the Christian Life Program. The program was able to help James beat his addiction and get his life back on track. James found his passion for playing the violin again and best of all, found his passion for life again.
You can watch and hear more about James from the eyes and voice of his mother in a video from City Union Mission’s YouTube channel:
Stories like James’ and many others inspired Frank Ancona Honda to support City Union Mission and make a donation to FeedKCNow. We hope James’ story inspired you as well.
You might not know it only takes $2 per meal to feed one homeless person at City Union MIssion. Imagine how many meals the Mission could provide with as little as a $10 donation.
But even if you can’t donate, educate. You can accept the #2DollarChallenge to show your support for the Mission. Eat three meals one day for $2 per meal and upload a video or post to our Twitter, @AnconaHonda. Be sure to use the tag #2DollarChallenge.
Without help from the community, City Union Mission can’t provide the services it does for the homeless of Kansas City, and it can’t help turn lives around, much like it did for James. Take a moment to watch James’ story, and if you can make a donation, please use our RAZ mobile fundraiser site: http://razmobile.com/b4f7e

Frank Ancona Honda is excited to announce a partnership with the Ronald McDonald House Charity of Kansas City. The Olathe dealership made a $2500 donation earlier this month, launched a mobile giving campaign on RAZ Mobile for customers to donate and is promoting the Hope Grows Here campaign to furnish a third home in the city. The new house is scheduled to open January 2015. Donate now and help furnish the home for families.
The Ronald McDonald Houses are a “Home Away From Home” for thousands of families every year who must travel to the Kansas City area to receive medical treatment for a sick or injured child. There are two Ronald McDonald Houses that currently provide temporary lodging to as many as 60 families each night while their children undergo vital medical care.
Jason Heard, general manager of Frank Ancona Honda, said, “Helping the Ronald McDonald House raise money for a third house in Kansas City is extremely rewarding for our employees and the dealership. Giving back to a charity that provides a home away from home is the least we can do.”
Their donation will help to purchase the items needed to furnish the house. This week they hope to raise money for bedroom items.
These items cost around:
We will keep you posted each week as we furnish this new home! Thank you.
