Kelley Blue Book recently named more Honda’s than any other automaker on the list of the 10-Best Family Cars of 2013. The Accord, Odyssey and CR-V were acknowledged for their prominence in four crucial categories: safety, roominess, comfort and value.
The 2013 Honda Accord stood atop the list on KBB.com’s family vehicles and boasted the lowest five-year cost to own among 10 other vehicles. The honor comes just weeks after earning TOP SAFETY PICK from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) The all-new Odyssey was the number one minivan on the list. The sought after family-friendly vehicle leads it’s class in fuel economy and safety ratings. The CR-V, another TOP SAFETY PICK, achieved the highest KBB.com 60-Month Residual Value and eanred top honors for KBB’s compact SUV class.
Editors sang the Accord’s praises for innovative features like LaneWatch™ blind spot display and its sophisticated interior design. The Odyssey Touring, at an astounding 28 mpg, possesses the highest rated EPA highway fuel economy rating of any eight-passenger minivan. The CR-V was described by the reviewers as a vehicle that offers “exceptional comfort, a smooth ride, and an excellent value.”

Already the most popular small car, according to Honda.com, the 2013 Honda Civic earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s TOP SAFETY PICK, elevating the sedan to the top spot in safety ratings for it’s class. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration also announced the popular four-door vehicle attained a Five-Star Overall Score, the highest achievable mark.
New standard features in this year’s model include a backup camera, Bluetooth wireless phone connectivity and numerous smartphone unifications such as Bluetooth streaming audio, text message functions and Pandora Internet radio. All these features and more a value steal.
Every tested vehicle in Honda’s lineup in 2013 has earned the TOP SAFETY PICK from IIHS, a feat that leads the industry. The sedan is equipped with Honda’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure. The innovative addition distributes collision energy evenly, redirecting it away from the passenger seat. Needless to say, ACE™ played a large role in making the 2013 Honda Civic the first small cars to earn the IIHS’ highest safety rating.
The 2013 Accord also earned these prominent ratings in the midsize class. All Civics are also equipped with SmartVent, front, side and overhead impact airbags along with stability control to bolster safe handling.
